  • Build and manage a personal portfolio of planned giving prospects and donors, conducting regular in-person, phone, and virtual visits to identify interests and solicit legacy gifts.
  • Partner with development officers and regional staff to integrate planned giving conversations into broader donor cultivation strategies.
  • Help develop marketing materials, direct mail and digital campaigns, and educational seminars to promote planned giving opportunities to members, volunteers, and donors.
  • Serve as one of the organization's subject-matter experts on gift planning vehicles and tax implications, working with donors' attorneys, financial advisors, and estate planners as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate donor records, gift documentation, and relationship-management activity in the CRM/database; produce regular pipeline and revenue reports for leadership.
  • Collaborate with leadership on the administration, acceptance, and stewardship of complex and deferred gifts, including gift agreements and estate settlements.
  • Steward existing legacy society members through recognition events, personalized communications, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Represent Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever at national conventions, banquets, and regional events to promote planned giving and cultivate prospects.
  • Stay current on tax law, estate planning trends, and best practices in gift planning, sharing relevant updates with the development team and donors.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A strong passion for Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s mission.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional fundraising experience, with at least 2 years focused specifically on planned/gift planning.
  • Demonstrated track record of soliciting and closing planned gifts (bequests, trusts, annuities, or similar vehicles).
  • Working knowledge of estate planning concepts, charitable gift vehicles, and relevant tax law as it pertains to charitable giving.
  • Proficiency with donor database/CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
  • Gift planning vehicle structuring and donor education.
  • CRM/database management and gift reporting.
  • Relationship-management and pipeline tracking.
  • Working knowledge of nonprofit gift acceptance policies.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and listening skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and public speaking.
  • High degree of discretion, integrity, and donor confidentiality.
  • Self-directed, organized, and able to manage a complex, long-cycle portfolio.
  • Collaborative team player who partners well across departments.
Compensation and Location:  Competitive salary ($85,000-125,000) commensurate with experience and qualifications, plus benefits. PF offers an exceptional benefit package. Location negotiable within the U.S.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
